Log-in and registration

I've forgotten my password. What should I do?
  1. Click Contact HP TechZone on the left navigation menu.
  2. Click Password help.
  3. Fill in the information you entered at the time of registration.
  4. You'll receive an e-mail containing your information from HP TechZone within 24 hours.

How can I change my registration information?
  1. Click Update my personal info, which is located at the top of every screen.
  2. Fill out the necessary information and click Submit.

What should I do if I change employment?
  1. Click Contact HP TechZone on the left navigation menu.
  2. Click Submit comments to send the information about your new place of employment.
  3. If you no longer work for an HP reselling business or service center, you will be given ample opportunity to redeem your remaining Zone Token balance before your account is closed.

I've forgotten my password, and my e-mail address has changed since I registered. What do I do now?
  1. Click Contact HP TechZone on the left navigation menu.
  2. Click Submit comments.
  3. Fill out the form with your information and:

    1. Select log-in/registration from the Topic drop-down menu.
    2. In the Comments box, state that you've forgotten your password and that your e-mail address is new.

System requirements

Do I need additional software to use HP TechZone?
You'll need the latest version of the Macromedia Flash Player to use HP TechZone and Adobe® Acrobat® Reader to view interactive demos, PDF files and other important information.

What should I do if a quiz is not marked complete on the My Training Info list after I have completed it?

Make sure you have the latest version of Flash 6 on your computer, and then clear your browser's cache. To clear your cache, follow these instructions.

If you are using Netscape:
  1. Hold down the shift key and hit the reload button on the screen. (If this does not work, complete steps 2–7.)
  2. Click Edit in the toolbar.
  3. Go to Preferences.
  4. Click the Advanced tab.
  5. Click Cache.
  6. Clear both the disk and memory by clicking OK on each.
  7. When you see "Document in cache is compared to document on network," click Once Per Session.
If you are using Internet Explorer:
  1. Hold down the control key and click the Refresh button on the screen. (If this does not work, complete steps 2–5)
  2. Click Tools in the toolbar.
  3. Go to Internet Options... (be sure you are in the General tab).
  4. Click Delete Files (this clears the existing cache).
  5. Click Settings. Make sure your cache settings are on "Every time you start Internet Explorer."
I can't get past the log-in screen after typing my user information correctly.

You may have cookies set incorrectly on your computer. Here are directions to check your cookie status.

If you are using Netscape:
  1. Click Edit on the toolbar.
  2. Go to Preferences.
  3. Click the Advanced tab.
  4. Make sure your cookies are set to Accept All Cookies.
  5. Click OK.
If you are using Internet Explorer:
  1. Click Tools on the top toolbar.
  2. Click Internet Options...
  3. Click the Security tab.
  4. Click the Custom Level button.
  5. Scroll down to Cookies and set to "Per Session Cookies."
  6. Click Enable.
